Achievers Make the Change

BlueShift: An Active Player in Building a More Competitive Hotel Industry

BlueShift positions itself in the market as an active agent contributing to the competitiveness of the hospitality sector, supporting investors and hotel operators in addressing the challenges and opportunities arising in a rapidly transforming industry. The tagline “Achievers Make the Change” highlights the commitment to transformation and results delivery through a team of experts with consolidated experience in various disciplines of hotel strategy and management, boasting an indisputable track record of successful outcomes.

The hotel industry is undergoing profound changes, driven by an increasingly demanding and powerful consumer, a more complex and ever-changing distribution system, and the impact of technology on the relationship between the hotel and the guest. The challenge for hotel organizations is significant, requiring a constant re-evaluation of strategies and organizational approaches while maintaining a focus on daily management.

BlueShift presents itself to the market as a 360⁰ solution for investors and operators in the sector. The service portfolio ranges from consulting to integrated management or management of specific departments of a hotel, also including asset management for non-hospitality investors.

Joining the founder and CEO of BlueShift, Francisco Nogueira de Sousa, a top manager with extensive experience in international brands, is now Filipe Santiago, Partner and Head of Development and Consulting. Santiago brings a long track record in the hospitality, banking, and management consulting industries.

BlueShift is organized in “Achievement Centers,” led by specialists with high expertise in each area of the business, such as Rooms Operations, F&B Operations, Revenue Management, Sales Management, or Finance and Control, totaling nine specialized units.

In addition to this unparalleled expertise in the market, BlueShift’s approach is defined by a challenging and innovative attitude, both strategically and operationally, and the ability to make things happen on the ground through support and team empowerment.

In hotels under BlueShift’s integrated management, a general manager appointed by BlueShift autonomously manages operations, leading the client’s team and receiving support from the “Achievement Centers” when needed. In other cases, the company’s intervention occurs in a specific and confined department, such as commercial and marketing management or revenue management.

For consulting projects, a project manager is assigned, and a team is assembled, combining dedicated consultants and professionals from relevant “Achievement Centers.” The type of assignments vary, ranging from market studies, concept development, and economic feasibility analysis for a new hotel to the operational optimization of a specific department or outlet.

Currently, BlueShift manages a diversified portfolio of eight properties, totaling 650 rooms, including large hotels and historical, urban, or rural boutique hotels, all reputed assets in the market, with some managed under an international brand. Launched only in September, the consulting area has already delivered the first project and has several ongoing or pipeline projects for clients with diverse profiles.

BlueShift’s mission also involves actively attracting talent to the sector through close relationships and partnerships with top management schools such as Nova SBE and Católica Lisbon, among others. This enables the identification and attraction of students with high potential to join BlueShift projects or client organizations.
